time to work on your FINAL ASSIGNMENT
Welcome to Week Eleven
We are on a home stretch!
Our weekly readings are done and there are no more
questions to respond to on the Discussion Board.
This week you will be working on your final assignment.
The final assessment involves a collaborative group project of creating an educational video about Canadian Workplace
Culture and Work Integration. You will work individually or in teams depending on your choice. Together as a class we
will collaborate to create one final project. Your personal or your team's videos will be approximately 10 - 15 minutes long
and answer essential questions related to (a) major topics covered: technical skills versus enabling (soft) skills, building
consensus with softeners, and indirect versus direct communication, and (b) 3 unspoken/unwritten rules of a workplace
of each team's choice. In addition to tapping into resources offered in the lessons, you are expected to research outside
resources for information - internet search and conducting interviews with friends, family members, and community
members.
Video recordings will be done with the help of your i-phones, i-pads, or video cameras. The choice of technology is up to
you! Your videos will be uploaded by the instructor to this website in the FINAL ASSIGNMENT. Upon project
completion, the instructor will open a project showcase and invite you to post your final reflections on the Discussion
Board. You will be asked to review and respond to your classmates' projects providing feedback. In addition, you will be
specifically asked to comment on the key learning elements of the course and how you plan to implement what you have
learned in the process of your integration in Canadian Workplace Culture.
Prior to working on the final assignment, please read the Media Making Rubric: Video below carefully to know the
requirements of the project and the expectations of the instructor. The rubric contains the following components:
introduction, delivery, technical production, content, and group/partner work.
Don't hesitate to contact your instructor if you have any questions about the choice of technology, ideas for the project,
people to team up with, or anything else!
