As an ESL learner I am fascinated by English idiomatic expressions. They are everywhere, no matter where you are! You can hear them on the radio, in a movie, in a conversation on a bus stop, in a newspaper, or in a book you are reading now. It seems that there is an infinite number of them, and, at times, I have a feeling that I will never know all of them. However, it does not make me sad at all. Do you know why? That is because, like you, I am a life-time learner and I do not mind learning a few new words or expression on a daily basis. It makes me feel as if I am moving forward towards my goal of mastering English language.
I would like to invite you to share your favorite idiomatic expressions here in this blog so that your classmates could learn from you. I would also like to encourage you to keep your ears open and your eyes peeled and learn and share new idioms here. Feel free to ask your classmates questions, and together we will enlarge our vocabulary. We can do a lot during the next 12 weeks!
Ready? Here we go...
The other day, I was in the super market and overhead three young women talking to each other. One of them said to her friends: "I think you are in cahoots!"
Does anyone know what to be in cahoots means? Find out and put it in a sentence of your own to share with your classmates and me.

P.S. How about to keep your ears open and your eyes peeled??
