Welcome to Week Ten
Lesson Ten
Assignments and questions related to this week's video:
This week you are going to watch the video by Paul A. Holmes. Does this name ring a bell? That's right, he is the author of
our weekly readings Workplace Integration - A Desk Reference for Newcomers to Canada. Please, read about Paul
below.
Paul Holmes has a multi-faceted background spanning three continents and 20 years in language and
intercultural learning contexts. He researched and wrote the Workplace Integration Series, an open-source set
of resources used widely across Canada to support newcomers with integration. As an expert in newcomer
integration, he has consulted extensively in the public, private and social sectors. He holds an MA in International Relations. Paul
resides in Calgary, Alberta where he specializes in designing and delivering innovative solutions for the multicultural Canadian
workplace.
Now you are ready to watch the video. You will find it surprisingly familiar as Paul talks about important points from our
weekly readings. Still, you might want to have a piece of paper and a pencil handy to take notes while watching it in order
to record some ideas you would like to reflect later on on the Discussion Board. At the end of the video, people from the
audience ask Paul questions. Think about questions YOU would have asked him. Your classmates might have answers to
them and will share them on the Discussion Board.
